Firefighters Rescue Driver From Burning Car

AKRON, Ohio — Firefighters pulled a driver from a burning car early Sunday morning after the vehicle crashed into a building, Fox 8 News reports.

It happened near Hazel Street and Wellington Avenue, just after midnight.

The Akron Fire Department tells Fox 8 News that the car slammed into the building’s garage doors and caught on fire. The driver was trapped until crews arrived and rescued the person from the car.

The driver was taken to Akron City Hospital, where a name and condition were not immediately released.

Officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
