Rookie Signs 4 Year Contract with Browns
CLEVELAND — The Browns and rookie running back Trent Richardson have agreed to a new four year contract.
ESPN has reported the back will earn $20.4 million over the life of the deal and that he received a $13 million bonus upon signing.
Richardson, the 3rd overall pick in the draft will be an immediate starter at running back for the team. Also, its been reported there is no offset language in the deal. That means the Browns must pay him his full salary, even if he signs with another team before the contract ends.
Richardson will report on Tuesday with all of the other signed rookies and the first year players will be on the field on Wednesday.
Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden, the 22nd overall pick has yet to reach a contract deal with the team.
