CLEVELAND — Late scoring wasn’t enough to save the Cleveland Indians in their defeat against the Baltimore Orioles Sunday.

The Indians were silent against the Orioles until the very last inning where they scored their only three runs.

Baltimore scored early in the game, earning two of four runs total in the first inning. The Orioles also added a run each in the seventh and eighth innings.

The Indians finally scored on a two-run homer by Carlos Santana, with Travis Hafner bringing the score to 4-3 off a RBI single in the ninth. However, the runs weren’t enough to take the game, and the Orioles walked away with another win.

This is the Indians’ fourth straight loss. They are now 4.5 games behind in the American League Central with a win-loss record of 47-48.

The Tribe hosts the Orioles again Monday evening at 7:05 p.m. at Progressive Field.
