MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Amber Alert issued by the Maple Heights Police Department for a missing 8-month-old baby has been canceled. The Amber Alert was in effect for the state of Ohio.

Police have found the baby, but his father is still at large.

Authorities say Darrell Spencer, 28, was last seen with his infant son Darrell Spencer, Jr., at Stafford Avenue in Maple Heights at 9:41 p.m. Police say Spencer is a black male, approximately 5’6″ and 160 lbs. and wearing only blue jeans. He also has tattoos on his right and left arms, neck and shoulder.

Spencer has a violent criminal history including domestic violence and assault. Police say he also set fire to the baby’s mother’s vehicle and threatened to kill the whole family before fleeing on foot.

Authorities believed Spencer may have tried to get on a Greyhound bus with the infant.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call the Maple Heights Police Department.
