PARMA, Ohio — Authorities say a man tried luring two little girls as they played at an elementary school playground.

Parma Police Detective Marty Compton tells Fox 8 News that on July 11th, a man dressed head-to-toe in black clothing approached two girls, ages 9 and 10, as they played on a playground at John Muir Elementary School. The school is located at 5531 West 24th Street.

Compton says the man approached the girls and asked them to come into a nearby woods with him. The suspect allegedly told the girls, “Come with me so you don’t get stolen.”

The girls ran from the scene, according to Compton, and alerted a parent of one of the girls. The parent then contacted police.

Police searched the area, but did not locate the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap, black pants and black shoes.

According to Compton, the girls were not sure if the suspect was a male or female because the suspect’s face and body were completely covered.
