TORONTO — The Cleveland Indians came up short against the Blue Jays Saturday, falling to Toronto 11 – 9.
The teams were in a tie after the first two innings, but the Indians’ luck ran out in the third. Pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez gave up eight runs including two two-run homers, sealing the team’s fate in early in the game.
The Indians were able to recover a pair of runs in the fourth inning off of Shelly Duncan’s two-run homer, and dominated the game in the eighth inning. Teams shut out the Blue Jays 5 – 0 in that inning, but it wasn’t enough to recover from Toronto’s earlier 8 – 0 run in the third.
The Blue Jays took the game 11 – 9.
The Indians take on the Blue Jays again Sunday at 1:07 p.m.
