Alcohol a Suspected Factor in Deadly Crash

PITTSFIELD TWP., Ohio — A driver involved in a crash that killed a Wellington, Ohio man will be charged, the Elyria Highway Patrol Post said.

The accident happened in Lorain County on SR 58, north of Webster Road, on Thursday around 10:48 p.m.

According to the Elyria Highway Patrol Post, Glenn Angney, 58, was headed south when a northbound vehicle drove left of center.

Angney tried to avoid a collision by swerving but was struck anyway.

Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

The other driver, Timothy Ropchock, 40, of Grafton, Ohio, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center by Life Flight.

The Elyria Highway Patrol Post said Ropchock will be charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle while under the influence and left of center.
