Body Found Outside on Cleveland’s East Side

CLEVELAND — The discovery of a body in a yard on Cleveland’s east side on Wednesday prompted a homicide investigation.

According to Sgt. Sammy Morris with the Cleveland Division of Police, a call was made at 6:31 a.m. reporting an unresponsive man lying on the ground in the 14000 block of Lakeshore Avenue.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim appeared to have been assaulted, Morris said.

There were no suspects at the time of this report.

The Cuyahoga County medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.
