Actors Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise Divorce in the Works Since 2011

According to TMZ, Katie Holmes has wanted to break from actor husband Tom Cruise for at least the last six months.

The site also says the former “Dawson’s Creek” star is adamant about keeping divorce proceedings in New York state, since she is more likely to retain full custody of the couple’s daughter Suri, 6. Reports say Cruise is willing to fight that claim and say the couple’s primary residency is in Beverly Hills.

This comes amid claims Holmes seeks primary custody of Suri in order to keep her out of the Church of Scientology’s Sea Organization in the future.

The Church of Scientology has since denied having sights on Suri joining Sea Organization, saying she must be at least 16-years-old and have parental consent.
