Severe Weather Downs Trees, Power Lines in Northeast Ohio
SANDUSKY, Ohio — Severe weather plowed through northern Ohio Sunday night, uprooting trees and taking down power lines across the viewing area.
The storms prompted many severe weather alerts from the National Weather Service, including tornado warnings in Erie, Ottawa and Sandusky counties. Whipping winds in excess of 60 mph knocked out power to nearly 10,000 people in Northeast Ohio.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said one of the hardest hit areas was Sandusky, where Tiffin Avenue was littered with debris from the storm. Crews also responded to West Madison Street to remove a tree that had crashed onto the roof of a home.
“It’s crazy, the landlord has complained to the city for two years about the tree, and now look what’s happened, it’s on my friends house and her car … everything is totaled,” said Kim Grear.
Further south, in Summit County, the Bath Township Police Department was advising residents who live east of 3658 Bath Road to stay inside their homes due to downed power lines.
“When the wind blew, the tree came down here, took the power lines down and took the power lines down next door, and the trees just kept coming down,” said Kevin Roth.
