SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSJV) — More than a hundred high school students are recovering from a stomach illness they got at a sports camp.

The camp was being held on the University of Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Indiana.

According to the school, campers reported symptoms like that of the flu.

Some of the 103 students were sent to the hospital, but are expected to be released some time on Thursday.

At this point the school isn’t sure what’s behind the illness.

“There’s a possibility it’s a food related illness. There’s a possibility there’s a virus. We’re working very closely with the county health department. They’ve taken samples from students,” said Dennis Brown, a spokesperson for the University of Notre Dame.

The county health department says there’s a chance the kids contracted the norovirus.
