Boy’s ‘One in a Billion’ Zoo Picture

MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) — Things got a bit wild on Wednesday at Zoo Miami.

Alex Hawker, 7, was posing for a picture in front of the lion’s den — when he got quite a surprise.

“It jumped on the glass, and I said, ‘What was that?’ Then I looked. It was a lion!” Alex said of the experience.

Sean Hawker captured the picture of his son’s close encounter with a wild animal.
He says it was sheer luck — a “one in a billion shot.”
