Arrest Me Elmo? Anti-Semitic Character Stirs Trouble
NEW YORK — New York City street performers use their characters to attract an audience and cash flow, but a crazed Elmo attracted so much negative attention the police got involved.
According to the New York Times, a man dressed in a furry, red suit was ejected from Central Park on Sunday after unleashing an anti-Semitic rant on passersby.
The man, who was reportedly involved in similar episodes over the past few weeks, was taken for a psychological evaluation, the Times reported.
