CONNEAUT, Ohio — A mother is arrested and two of her children placed in Child Protective Services after one of the children was found roaming alone and naked Tuesday morning.

A 3-year-old child was found wandering in the middle of Broad Street near Dean Avenue. Police and the individual who reported the incident clothed the child and took the child to the Conneaut Police station, where officers called CPS to help locate the child’s family.

Police say two hours later, a woman called asking if a missing child had been reported. Upon arriving to the station the woman, Lindsy Crawford, told police she woke up to discover the toddler missing and the front and back doors of her home open. They say she attempted to find the child on her own for several hours before contacting police, who say she did not seem concerned about the child’s whereabouts. She also informed authorities she has a 4-month-old baby.

Crawford was arrested on charges of child endangering, child neglect, possession of drug paraphernalia and a minor misdemeanor citation for marijuana possession.
