Tribe Sweeps Reds on Masterson’s Complete Game
Justin Masterson pitched an outstanding game Wednesday night at Progressive Field, and his offense more than carried the night for him, as well.
Masterson allowed only three hits and one run in pitching a complete game as the Tribe beat the Reds for the three-game sweep, 8-1.
The Indians lumber made lots of noise with two big knocks and a double that cleared the bases.
Johnny Damon spanked a two-run homer in the fourth inning and Asdrubal Cabrera followed up with a three-run shot against Bronson Arroyo. Lonnie Chisenhall hit a bases-loaded double in the seventh inning to finish out the scoring.
Masterson saw his streak of scoreless innings halted at 18 when the Reds scored in the eighth inning. He struck out nine batters on the night including the final three in the final frame. It was his fourth career complete game victory.
The Indians have Thursday off and will be in Houston beginning Friday night.
