Turkey Burgers, Baked Sweet Potatoes and Fresh Fruit
Turkey Burger Ingredients:
- 1 cup chopped peppers and onions
- 1lb. ground turkey
- Lawry’s seasoned salt
- Garlic powder
- Pepper
- 4 Whole wheat or kaiser rolls
- American cheese
- Olive oil or butter
- Lettuce and tomato
Directions:
Mix peppers and seasonings into ground turkey meat and form four patties. Preheat skillet and coat with olive oil or butter. Place turkey burgers in skillet and cook on medium heat for 8 minutes on each side or until completely done. (Covering the burgers when they are first put in the skillet will speed up the cooking process on the inside of the burger.)
Once burgers are done, place cheese on the bottom half of the bun and place hot burger on top of the cheese. Top with lettuce, tomato and condiments of your choice! Kyrie’s is Miracle Whip and ketchup!!
Sweet Potatoes Ingredients:
- 4 sweet potatoes (the ones on the show are found in the produce section and will say “microwaveable.”)
- Butter
- Sugar
- Ground cinnamon
Directions:
Microwave potatoes for 7-10 minutes until tender. If you use regular potatoes, rinse well, poke holes all over the potato and wrap in a wet paper towel. Microwave for the same amount of time.
Once tender, remove plastic and cut a slit down the length of the potato. Add butter, sugar and ground cinnamon and rake the potato a little just to mix.
