Man Opens Fire on Authorities During Major Cocaine Bust

AKRON, Ohio — Authorities say a dozen people have been indicted following a cocaine and marijuana bust Tuesday.

Two Akron SWAT team members were shot in the helmet by John Wright, 55, the father of Darin Wright, one of those charged in the bust.

Local and federal authorities say more than 100 kilograms of cocaine were smuggled to Akron and Canton from California hidden inside hollowed-out engine blocks.
