Angelica Campos relives her own La Quinceanera as she takes in this year’s trends!

La Quinceanera is a celebration that marks the 15th birthday of a Hispanic woman, like a mix between a Bat Mitzvah and a Sweet Sixteen celebration.
For some families it can be a big event and requires saving for years to make the 15th birthday a lavish celebration.
La Quinceanera can involve live bands, limos, flowers, catered food and lots of gifts.
La Quinceanera is commonly celebrated in Hispanic cultures in places like Mexico and South America.
It can also be a spiritual celebration starting with a church service before the party and then the young girl talks about her hopes and dreams for the future.
Today we learn about the tradition and get a preview of some of the dresses girls will be wearing this year at their La Quinceanera.
Catan Fashions in Strongsville will hold a La Quinceanera showcase on Friday, Jun 15.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Show starts 6 p.m.
