My Town: Sing Out! for Cleveland Rape Crisis Center
CLEVELAND, Ohio – It only happens once very two years! More than 100 local leaders and celebrities will join voices to Sing Out! for Cleveland Rape Crisis Center on Tuesday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m.at The Ohio Theatre in Playhouse Square. Fox 8’s Todd Meany will be among those in this distinguished chorale.
In addition to hosting the benefit concert, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) will honor Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Thomas C. Stevens, chief administrative office of KeyBank, for their leadership roles in combating sexual violence. Mayor Jackson formed a Special Commission on Missing Persons and Sex Crimes Investigations in 2010, which has led to sweeping changes in the way the City of Cleveland responds to this crime. Stevens has contributed support and guidance to CRCC for many years, opening doors and giving a voice to survivors of sexual assault.
“Sing Out! for Cleveland Rape Crisis Center is a community event that raises awareness and financial support for sexual assault survivors,” said Megan O’Bryan, President and CEO of CRCC. “The Sing Out! Chorale is comprised of more than 100 community, civic and business leaders who join voices to Sing Out! against rape and sexual violence. This event is symbolic of the mission and work of the CRCC, to give voice back to survivors who are often silenced, not heard or believed.”
Paul Clark, regional president of PNC Bank, and Beth Mooney, chairman and CEO of KeyCorp are co-chairs of the event, which is expected to raise more than $300,000 for CRCC.
