SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — An Akron man has been found guilty of his 11th DUI offense, according to the Summit County Prosecutors Office.

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced on Tuesday that John M. Carano, 54, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of OVI.

Bevan Walsh says the OVI conviction are felony counts due to Carano having five OVI convictions within 20 years.

When Carano was pulled over on August 6, 2011, according to Bevan Walsh, a Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed that he had two open cans of beer in his car, along with a machete and a club.

Carano will be sentenced by Summit County Common Pleas Judge Tammy O’Brien on June 28.
