Mom Leaves Baby on Top of Car, Drives Off

PHOENIX – USA Today is reporting a mother in Phoenix has been arrested for leaving her son on top of her car and driving off Saturday.

Witnesses found the 5-week-old still strapped in his car seat in the middle of an intersection and called authorities. The baby was not injured in the ordeal and is in protective custody.

Police say the mother had been drinking and smoking marijuana prior to the incident. She is being charged with child abuse and aggravated DUI.
