My Town: Learn to Canoe in Huntsburg

HUNTSBURG TWP., Ohio – Start your summer off safely by learning to canoe at Headwaters Park in Huntsburg Township.  The Geauga Park District is sponsoring the course which takes place Sunday, June 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the park’s boathouse, 13365 Old State Road.

Adults and children age 10 and older can participate in this Red Cross Safety Course and learn basic canoe-handling techniques on flat water (not rapids).  Wear shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy, just in case your canoe overturns.

The cost for the Learn to Canoe course is $10.  Canoes will be provided.  No private canoes will be allowed.
