Rollover Accident Slows Morning Commute on I-77
BRECKSVILLE, Ohio — A rollover accident on Interstate 77 slowed the Wednesday morning commute considerably, Fox 8 News reports.
Ohio Department of Transportation spokesperson Amanda Lee says that in the moments following the crash, I-77 southbound was completely closed at Highland Drive.
It wasn’t long before the left lane was reopened, but it took a few additional hours to reopen the entire highway as crews finished the clean-up process. Traffic was stop-and-go from Wallings Road at one juncture.
I-77 northbound traffic was also sluggish between Interstate 271 and State Route 82 despite no reports of any accidents in that specific area.
Elsewhere, another crash had the local lanes of I-271 southbound closed near Chagrin Boulevard for a short time. Authorities simply shifted motorists onto the express lanes.
