STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- Friends and family held a community fundraiser at Westfield South Mark Mall for the victim of a family shooting Saturday.

Kayla Allen, 10, was shot by her father and the only member of her family to survive.

Parents and friends from Chapman Elementary, where Kayla is a fifth grader, organized the fundraiser for the Kayla Allen Benefit Fund. The celebration was originally intended to mark Cinemark's fifth anniversary at South Park Mall, but staff decided to dedicate it to Kayla instead.

Kayla remains in serious condition at MetroHealth Medical Center. Her father was shot and killed by police after opening fire on Kayla, her sister and mother at Cracker Barrel in Brooklyn on April 12th.
