Man Survives After Nail Shot Into His Heart

CAMDEN, N.J. — A builder from New Jersey was trying to clear a jam in a nail-gun when he accidentally shot himself in the heart.

According to WPVI-TV, Dennis Hennis was helping repair a neighbor’s roof when the accident happened.

The WPVI-TV report says Hennis fired a three-inch nail into the right side of his heart.

Hennis went into cardiac arrest following the accident and was rushed to an area hospital.

A surgeon who helped repair Hennis’ heart told WPVI-TV  that the builder is very lucky to be alive.
