Hilary Duff and Husband Welcome Baby Boy
(CNN) — Congratulations are in order for former child star Hilary Duff and her hockey player hubby of 18 months.
The actress/singer and her 31-year-old NHL star husband, Mike Comrie, have welcomed their first bundle of joy into the world — a little boy named Luca.
The couple shared the happy news Thursday via Twitter.
“Welcome to the world, Luca Cruz Comrie!” Duff tweeted.
“Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy,” she continued. “We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.”
Duff and Comrie married in 2010 and she announced her pregnancy in August 2011.
According to US Weekly Duff’s plan is to enjoy motherhood for awhile and then get back to work.
“I think that after I have the baby I’ll want to sit still for a few months and learn how to be a really good mom, ” she told the publication some months back.
“And then there’s no reason why I can’t put a record out and tour… It might take a little while but I’m really excited about it.”
