Singer El DeBarge was booked on Monday for alleged possession of drugs with an intent to sell, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told CNN.

According to the police, the three-time Grammy-nominee was one of two suspects arrested after narcotics were recovered near Los Angeles’ White Oak Avenue and the 101 Freeway.

DeBarge’s bail was set at $30,000, police said. The second suspect, Curtis Freeman, was booked for attempted possession. His bail was set at $10,000.

These latest charges weren’t DeBarge’s first run-in with the law. He has been charged several times since he was placed on probation in 2001 for cocaine possession.

The “Rhythm of the Night” singer was spotted embracing Whitney Houston at a Hollywood nightclub days before Houston’s death on February 11, according to TMZ.

DeBarge also made an appearance at the 54th Grammy Awards on February 12.
