Police: Drunk Man Tased After Kicking Officer in Face

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cleveland police officer was injured when a suspect became violent and kicked him in the face, Fox 8 News reports.

According to Cleveland police, it happened at around 6 p.m. Thursday in the 19800 block of Mohawk Avenue.

Officers were called to the area for a report of shots fired. Once there, they encountered a drunk suspect and attempted to arrest him. That’s when, police say, the suspect kicked one of the officers in the face and had to be tased. A firearm was found at the scene.

The injured officer was treated at Euclid Hospital and released.

The suspect was taken into custody on charges of discharging a firearm and assault on a police officer. His identity has not yet been released.
