My Town: Donate Used Furniture to Families in Need

AKRON — Donate your used furniture to CORE, a non-profit initiative that believes that no child should have to sleep on the floor.

Examples of items CORE accepts for donation — as long as they are clean and in useable condition — are as follows:

— Beds
— Dressers
— Sofas
— Upholstered chairs
— End tables
— Coffee tables
— Lamps
— Televisions
— Dinette sets
— Dishes
— Pots and pans.

CORE also accepts appliances such as microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers.

The organization is unable to accept furniture that is significantly ripped, soiled or matted with animal fur.

CORE is also unable to accept clothing and other miscellaneous household items such as books, desks and metal furniture.

Items can also be dropped off on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. or Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CORE warehouse, located at 2900 State Rd. (Unit 3) in Cuyahoga Falls.
