Ohio Governor John Kasich will be attending a prayer vigil on Tuesday night held in honor of the victims of Monday’s shooting.
Rob Nichols with the governor’s department of communications tells Fox 8 News’ Stacey Frey that the governor will attend the prayer vigil being held at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street in Chardon, at 7 p.m.
Kasich has been in Chardon since early Monday evening meeting with those affected by the tragedy. On Monday he ordered the flags at the Statehouse be flown at half-staff today in honor of Daniel Parmertor and Russell King Jr., the two students who have died as a result of the school shooting.

Flags in Geauga County are also to be flown at half-staff.

According to Nichols, the governor has pledged his and the state’s support to assist in the healing efforts.

Kasich shared his thoughts regarding the tragedy prior to an event at The Ohio State University on Monday.
