A Port Clinton man has entered a not guilty plea to charges that he raped a baby sitter while his pregnant girlfriend slept in another room.

According to an incident report obtained by Fox 8 News, Jeremiah L. Risch, 33, was taken into custody on Nov. 14 and charged with two counts each of rape and kidnapping along with a single count of gross sexual imposition for the alleged Nov. 12 sexual assault.

Risch entered a not guilty plea to the charges on Monday in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court. He remains housed at the Ottawa County jail on a $500,000 bond.

Police say Risch and his pregnant girlfriend returned home from a hospital visit on Nov. 12 and the girlfriend went to bed on doctor’s orders due to difficulties with her pregnancy.

The incident reports states that after putting his girlfriend to bed, Risch exited the bedroom, walked into the living room and took away a laptop computer the 13-year-old was using. He then pushed her to the ground and proceeded to allegedly rape the baby sitter.

According to the report, Risch allegedly told the girl not to tell anyone of what had taken place. The girl returned home the following day and told her step-mother of the alleged rape.

The girl’s step-mother contacted police, who had the girl undergo a sexual assault exam at a hospital. In addition to the exam, authorities also collected clothing samples that the girl was wearing the evening of the alleged attack.

Shortly after receiving the results of the exam, Port Clinton officers were instructed to arrest Risch.

A warrant was issued to obtain a DNA sample from Risch, which was taken on Nov. 15. The samples have been taken to Ottawa County’s BCI unit for analysis and comparison with the sexual assault exam.
