Officials at the Lorain Correctional Institution in Grafton tell Fox 8 News that a former corrections officer has been indicted on charges related to an alleged sexual relationship she carried on with an inmate at the facility.

Brande Harris, spokesperson for the Lorain Correctional Institute, says Elizabeth J. Dennis, 31, of Akron, was taken into custody last week and indicted on a felony count of sexual battery and two dereliction of duty counts, both misdemeanors.
According to Harris, an internal investigation led to the charges.

Dennis resigned her position with the Lorain Correctional Institution in July once allegations of the relationship began to surface. Dennis was assigned to the mail room in the prison, said Harris.

She remains free after posting a $4,000 bond on Monday.
