CLEVELAND, Ohio – A group of teachers from Case Elementary in Cleveland will be having an extra special holiday season this year thanks to a big Ohio Lottery win.

The 14 teachers will split $250,000 after matching five of five mega numbers and no mega ball in the November 1,Mega Millions’ drawing.

The teachers, according to the Ohio Lottery, have been pooling their money together to play the lottery for the past 15 years. Each teacher contributed $10 monthly.

Lottery officials say that after federal and state taxes, totaling 31 percent, the group will divide $172,500 and receive $12,321 each.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Corner Beverage, 923 East 222nd Street in Euclid, who will receive $1,000 for selling a second-tier prize winning Mega Millions ticket.

The group did not use the auto-lotto feature, but instead selected their numbers, 27-31-39-40-46. The mega ball number, the only number they selected incorrectly, was 36.
